Guidance, not a quote. The calculation uses disclosed planning ranges. Item dimensions, master data, destinations and peaks only become binding after a detailed review.

Calculation logic and limits

The model includes space, people, systems, handling and campaign peaks. The external range is a market and operating model, not a PROWERB price.

Inputs

How to read the result

Change one input at a time to compare scenarios. The displayed range is a planning estimate; the methodology below explains what is included.

01Shipments per yearAnnual quantity in pcs; it affects ongoing handling and the external range.
02Active SKUsNumber of SKUs; it feeds into systems and processes.
03Warehouse area in useArea in m²; it sets the range for space and infrastructure.
04Full-time operational rolesFTE; it determines people and peak staffing.
05Campaigns per yearQuantity in pcs; it affects campaign preparation.
Methodology

In-house cost and external range stay separate.

The in-house side combines space and infrastructure, people and peak staffing, systems and processes, ongoing handling and campaign preparation. The external value is a calculation range based on market and operating assumptions for the same inputs — not a PROWERB price or an individual quote. Goods value, procurement, specific carrier contracts, item dimensions, destinations and special cases are excluded.

01Space per yearArea × EUR 95–145. External range: area × EUR 55–100.
02People per yearFTE × EUR 54,000–72,000. FTE does not change the external estimate.
03Systems per yearEUR 10,000–18,000 plus EUR 9–16 per active SKU. External: EUR 7,000–16,000 plus EUR 4–10 per SKU.
04Handling per yearShipments × EUR 1.25–2.25. External: shipments × EUR 3.80–6.80.
05Campaign preparation per yearCampaigns × EUR 1,200–3,500. External: campaigns × EUR 700–2,200.
06ComparisonThe difference spans the internal minimum minus external maximum to the internal maximum minus external minimum. A negative result is possible. These are model assumptions, not guaranteed savings; continuing commitments need a separate assessment.

Reference

Vaillant has outsourced since 2007: order call-offs, inventory, exception handling.

For the manufacturer of heating and climate technology, PROWERB runs promotional-products logistics in ongoing operations: standardized order call-offs from the warehouse, goods receipt and inventory management, shipment tracking, exception handling. Almost two decades, several thousand transactions, no campaign business. The case shows what outsourcing replaces in continuous operation: your own space, your own dispatch staff, your own system upkeep.

FAQ

What the calculation delivers — and what only a quote can do.

How reliable is the result?

It is an indicative comparison, not a quote. Changing an input immediately changes its related result rows; the assessment only becomes binding after the concrete data is checked.

Which costs are included?

It includes space and infrastructure, people and peak staffing, systems and processes, ongoing handling and campaign preparation. It excludes goods value, procurement, specific carrier contracts, item dimensions, destinations and special cases.

From what volume does outsourcing pay off?

There's no flat threshold. What matters is campaign share, assortment breadth and peak load: someone running a promotion twice a year calculates differently than a ongoing operation with daily order call-offs. The calculation maps both profiles.

What happens to my inputs?

The calculation runs in the browser. No email address is needed for the result, export or PDF, and it does not trigger a follow-up.

What's the difference between this calculation and the pricing page?

The pricing page explains how a quote at PROWERB comes together. This calculation flips the perspective: it quantifies what your current operation costs — and makes both comparable.
