Guidance, not a quote. The calculation uses disclosed planning ranges. Item dimensions, master data, destinations and peaks only become binding after a detailed review.

Calculation logic and limits

High-bay storage, floor storage, aisles, staging and peak buffer are calculated separately. Item dimensions can materially change the range.

Have the assumptions reviewed →
Warehouse space is calculated in pallet spaces, not square meters.
Inputs

How to read the result

Change one input at a time to compare scenarios. The displayed range is a planning estimate; the methodology below explains what is included.

01Average pallet inventoryInventory in pallets; it sets the basis for the area range and positions.
02Bulky and floor storage shareShare in %; it moves area from high-bay to floor and bulky storage.
03Inventory turns per yearTurns in x; they affect aisles and staging.
04Additional peak inventoryShare in %; it maps campaign buffer and additional positions.
Methodology

Bulky goods blow up any square-meter rule of thumb.

The model splits pallet stock into high-bay and floor storage using the bulky-goods share. Inventory turns add a movement-area allowance; peak stock adds a staging allowance and pallet positions. Fixed area factors produce the displayed range. Item dimensions, glass, hazardous materials and individual high/slow-runner zones are not modelled separately; they need a site-specific layout review.

Reference — Heavy goods

Kitchens are the stress test for any space planning.

For a German kitchen and furniture provider with its own direct-to-consumer brand, PROWERB runs heavy-goods fulfillment on an ongoing basis: goods receipt and inventory management, order-to-cash, freight-forwarder control with exception handling, shipment tracking and delivery notification.

Deliveries are controlled systemically — as a planned inbound process, not case-by-case resolution. In parallel, PROWERB runs the direct-to-consumer brand's brand store, including Amazon brand registration, master data maintenance and WEEE/CE compliance.

Heavy goods in the warehouse, digital commerce out front: both under the same roof.

FAQ

What the calculation delivers — and what it can't.

How reliable is the result?

The range is an indicative planning model, not a site layout or quote. A detailed review needs item dimensions, load requirements and peak stock.

What happens with bulky and heavy goods?

The selected bulky and floor storage share is shown as a separate area. Individual item weights, dimensions and handling requirements must be checked separately.

Does the calculation account for campaign peaks?

Yes. Additional peak inventory adds pallet positions and an area allowance. The calculator does not assess staffing or the daily throughput required during the peak.

Next step

From reference value to operating concept.

The calculation quantifies the space. Whether high-bay racking or block storage, main warehouse Kleve or special-operations space in the Münsterland, ongoing operations or campaign line — that's decided by the detail check. Send us your assortment, we'll do the math.
