Case Construction Chemicals: E-Commerce Build from CI to DAC7

Brand, website, marketplace, visibility, reporting obligations — the path from factory to shopping cart has more layers than a mid-sized company can staff on the side. For a construction chemicals supplier, PROWERB has taken on all layers: from the brand book to DAC7 reporting. Not as a project with a handover date, but as ongoing operations.

Starting point

Good products don't sell themselves. Even less so online.

A mid-sized construction chemicals supplier: strong on product, with no presence of its own in online retail. The usual path would have been to break the build into separate trades — one agency for the brand, one for the website, one for marketing, a service provider for dispatch and returns. Four contracts, four contacts, four handoffs where responsibility ends. The customer chose the other path: all trades in one place that not only builds the channel but is also accountable for it afterward.

Developing a digital presence and construction-chemicals shop from product documentation.
Service profile

Brand first, then the channel, then operations.

It didn't start with the shop, but with the brand book: CI and visual language as the foundation for everything that follows — including product photography for the website and marketplace. Built on that, the company's own website, conceived and developed by PROWERB.

In parallel, the marketplace: Amazon setup with FBA dispatch and ongoing listing optimization. Visibility through SEO and SEA. And the part that no one plans for in marketplace selling and everyone has to fulfill: returns processing and the reporting obligations under the EU platform directive DAC7.

Brand first, then the channel, then operations.
Process

Five trades, one responsibility.

  1. 01

    Brand & CI

Brand book and visual language as the foundation for shop, listings and campaigns. Plus product photography for website and marketplace.

  2. 02

    Website

Concept, development and build of the company's own site — built to sell, not a brochure.

  3. 03

    Amazon FBA

Account and listing setup, FBA dispatch, ongoing listing optimization.

  4. 04

    SEO & SEA

Building visibility organically, accelerating it with paid — from the same team that also maintains the product data.

  5. 05

    Operations & compliance

Returns processing and DAC7 reporting obligations in ongoing business. The part that begins after go-live and never stops.

Result

From zero online sales to a running channel.

The supplier now sells through its own website and through Amazon — with one brand that's consistent across both channels, and fulfilled reporting obligations instead of open compliance gaps. PROWERB remains the operator in the background: listings, campaigns, returns and DAC7 reporting continue under the mandate. The brand belongs to the customer. Operating it is our job.

Context

Whoever only builds shops is gone after go-live.

The difference between an agency and an operator doesn't show up at launch, but in the third month after — with the return, the listing update, the DAC7 report. That's why PROWERB takes on both: build and operations.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about building e-commerce from a single source.

Does PROWERB really take on all trades — including brand and photography?

Yes. In this mandate: CI and brand book, product photography, website concept and development, Amazon FBA with listing optimization, SEO and SEA, plus returns processing and DAC7 compliance. All trades sit in one place that's also accountable for the channel afterward.

What is DAC7 — and who handles it?

DAC7 is the EU platform directive with reporting obligations for marketplace selling — the part no one plans for at launch and everyone has to fulfill. PROWERB handles the reporting in ongoing operations instead of leaving it as an open compliance gap.

What happens after go-live?

Operations really begin only then: listings, campaigns, returns and DAC7 reporting continue under the mandate. The difference between an agency and an operator doesn't show up at launch, but in the third month after — with the return, the listing update, the report.

Who ultimately owns the brand?

The customer. Brand book, visual language and presence are created for the customer and remain their property — PROWERB is the operator in the background. The brand belongs to the customer, operating it is our job.

In what order does the build run?

Brand first, then the channel, then operations: it starts with the brand book with CI and visual language as the foundation, on which the company's own website and the Amazon setup are built, with visibility coming through SEO and SEA. After that, ongoing operations take over with returns and reporting obligations.

How do we start if we have no online sales channel at all yet?

That's exactly how this case began: strong on product, with no presence of its own in online retail. Sketch out your project — you'll get an assessment of which trades your online sales channel needs and how the build proceeds. The non-binding Needs Check takes under 60 seconds.
