A marketing execution platform refers to a software system that manages the operational execution of marketing measures — from ordering and budget approval through personalization and production to inventory, dispatch and reporting. It should be distinguished from marketing automation, which serves digital channels such as e-mail sequences: an execution platform executes measures that become physical — promotional material, print items, POS equipment. To do so, it connects the ordering processes of decentralized users with warehouse, production and logistics.

As soon as branch offices, trade partners or field sales order promotional material, e-mail ping-pong ensues without a system: unclear stock levels, no budget control, no standards for personalization and dispatch. An execution platform turns this stretch into a guided process — with permissions, budgets, approvals and inventory transparency. For decision-makers, it is therefore less an IT topic than an instrument of control over brand presence and marketing costs.
With MEP, PROWERB develops and operates its own marketing execution platform with 18 modules, directly connected to PROWERB CORE, the company's own ERP/WMS with real-time inventory management. Development takes place at the IT and digital hub in Düsseldorf with more than 50 people.
Four terms from the same system landscape:
Marketing automation serves digital channels — e-mail sequences, campaign triggers. An execution platform executes measures that become physical: it connects ordering, budget and approval with warehouse, production and dispatch.
Organizations with decentralized orderers: branch offices, trade partners, field sales. The more locations order promotional material, the more the platform replaces manual coordination with guided processes including budget and inventory control.
For larger fulfillment takeovers, we use the seven-phase method: from requirements and master data through system integration, testing and stock transfer to go-live and handover to ongoing operations. Around 14 weeks is a planning guide for that scope; data quality, interfaces and stock transfer determine the actual date. Smaller or purely digital assignments receive a suitable introduction plan.
