Starting position

Align the delivery offer in the shop with the carrier process.

Furniture and kitchen logistics rarely fails at the shelf. It fails on everything around it: on deliveries arriving nonstop, on carrier appointments nobody announces, on exception cases that cost double with heavy freight — and on a digital channel that raises parcel-delivery expectations where two-person handling is what actually gets delivered.

01Bulky goods, not parcelsCarcasses, worktops and fronts have different requirements from an accessory parcel. Shipping planning needs dimensions, weight and protective packaging for each package, plus the requested delivery location and receiving conditions. Agree the delivery scope before displaying it in the shop, especially when the main item and accessories are intended to arrive separately.
02Nonstop deliveriesGoods arrive in waves from ongoing production. Every goods receipt must be booked, every discrepancy caught immediately — otherwise the shop sells inventory that doesn't exist.
03The expensive exception caseTransport damage or non-receipt costs twice with heavy freight: replacement delivery plus retrieval. That calls for a process, not case-by-case improvisation.
04Sold digitally, delivered physicallyD2C store and marketplace are a discipline of their own: listings, master data, brand registration, maintenance of supplied WEEE/CE documents for applicable items. Running them separately from logistics creates friction at the interface.

Service profile

Inbound, carrier management, exception handling, marketplace — one system books it all.

Four building blocks carry furniture and kitchen direct sales. At PROWERB they run in the same ERP and WMS — the inventory the shop displays is the inventory sitting in the warehouse.

01Inbound & inventory management →Booking goods receipt, real-time inventory booking and reconciliation, target/actual inventory counts, relocations. Dedicated warehouse areas for manual and bulky goods.
02Order-to-cash →Order acceptance and confirmation, changes, cancellations, date changes, invoice and credit note processing — in the same system as inventory.
03Carrier management, delivery notification & exception handlingCarrier assignment and management, shipment tracking, end-customer delivery notification, transport exception handling including additional-cost processing, returns assignment.
04D2C store & AmazonOperating the brand shop, Amazon brand registration, listing and SKU master data maintenance, maintenance of supplied WEEE/CE documents for applicable items — built and run from the same facility as logistics.
Reference · anonymized

Heavy-freight warehouse and own D2C store — for the same customer, in one system.

For a German kitchen and furniture supplier with its own direct-sales brand, PROWERB runs both halves of the business. Physical: goods receipt and inventory management, order-to-cash, carrier management with exception-handling management, outbound tracking and delivery notification.

Digital: operating the D2C brand store of the house brand, Amazon brand registration, SKU and master data maintenance, and maintenance of supplied WEEE/CE documents for applicable items.

Deliveries run nonstop and are managed systemically rather than clarified case by case — the mandate ranks among the most transaction-intensive in the company. Legal product responsibility and determining the applicable requirements remain with the manufacturer or responsible economic operator.

Positioning

The delivery needs to match what the shop promises.

Delivery areas, package dimensions, advance notification and the agreed handover point affect both the purchase and shipping. When building a D2C shop, we align this information with logistics. Any additional delivery service is assessed for the specific range and transport route and recorded in the offer.

FAQ

What furniture and kitchen suppliers ask us first.

Do you store furniture and kitchen modules?

Yes. The warehouse in Kleve has dedicated areas for manual and bulky goods, as part of the group’s capacity of more than 55,000 pallet spaces. Inventory is booked in real time in our own warehouse management system, RFID-capable.

Do you handle carrier management completely?

Yes. Assignment, scheduling, end-customer delivery notification and shipment tracking run through PROWERB — as do transport exception cases including additional-cost processing and returns assignment.

Do you also run the online sales channel?

Yes. For a kitchen supplier, PROWERB today runs the D2C brand store and Amazon presence including brand registration, SKU maintenance and maintenance of supplied WEEE/CE documents for applicable items. Shop and warehouse operate on the same inventory.

How quickly can we get started?

For larger fulfillment takeovers, we use the seven-phase method: from requirements and master data through system integration, testing and stock transfer to go-live and handover to ongoing operations. Around 14 weeks is a planning guide for that scope; data quality, interfaces and stock transfer determine the actual date. Smaller or purely digital assignments receive a suitable introduction plan.
